Red Seal – What’s on the Exam?

Every specified trade has its own Red Seal examination. So the precise content is determined by the profession for which you have been trained. It will cover topics like:


-Your trade's duties and responsibilities

-Technical and trade-specific vocabulary

-Safety procedures

-Skills required for your trade

-The equipment and tools you utilize in your profession


Your exam may also evaluate your abilities to execute trade-related mathematics, comprehend and interpret diagrams, utilize the imperial or metric systems, and answer trade-related questions. Every test has between 100 and 150 multiple-choice questions, all of which are equally important.


Here are some additional details concerning Red Seal tests that you should be aware of:


-You have up to four hours to finish your exam.

-You can write your test in either English or French.

-You'll almost certainly have to pay a test cost.

-You'll need to bring a government-issued picture ID along with other materials as indicated on your exam confirmation letter.

-Bags, cell phones, and other sorts of devices are not permitted during the examination.

-You need to answer at least 70 percent of the questions correctly to pass.

-It might take up to four weeks to obtain your result.
